A fragrant thyme simple syrup made with fresh thyme, sugar, and water. Perfect for cocktails, lemonade, tea, desserts, and more.
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 6 –8 fresh thyme sprigs
Combine water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until fully dissolved.
Add thyme and bring to a gentle simmer for 5–8 minutes.
Remove from heat and steep 10–15 minutes.
Strain and cool completely before storing.
Avoid boiling aggressively to prevent bitterness.
Taste during steeping to control herbal strength.
Store in refrigerator in airtight container.
