Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200 g) white granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) filtered water
  • 1 large ripe pear peeled, cored, and chopped

Instructions

  • Dissolve sugar in water over medium heat.
  • Add chopped pear and simmer gently for 5–7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and steep for 15 minutes.
  • Strain syrup into a sterilized bottle, pressing gently on the fruit.
  • Cool completely before refrigerating.

Notes

Choose ripe, fragrant pears for the best flavor.
Steep longer (up to 20 minutes) for a more pronounced pear note.
For a richer syrup, use a 2:1 sugar-to-water ratio.
Store refrigerated and use within 2 weeks for optimal freshness.
