This pear simple syrup brings gentle flavors to cocktails, mocktails and other refreshing drinks. It's soft, honeyed, and delicately fruity,
- 1 cup (200 g) white granulated sugar
- 1 cup (240 ml) filtered water
- 1 large ripe pear peeled, cored, and chopped
Dissolve sugar in water over medium heat.
Add chopped pear and simmer gently for 5–7 minutes.
Remove from heat and steep for 15 minutes.
Strain syrup into a sterilized bottle, pressing gently on the fruit.
Cool completely before refrigerating.
Choose ripe, fragrant pears for the best flavor.
Steep longer (up to 20 minutes) for a more pronounced pear note.
For a richer syrup, use a 2:1 sugar-to-water ratio.
Store refrigerated and use within 2 weeks for optimal freshness.
