Make naturally sweet peach simple syrup for cocktails, iced tea, breakfast, and desserts. Fresh or frozen peaches work!
- 2 ripe peaches sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
Wash and slice peaches. Leave skins on for added color and aroma.
In a medium saucepan, combine peaches, sugar, and water over medium heat.
Stir until the sugar fully dissolves.
Once the mixture begins to gently simmer, reduce heat to low.
Simmer for 15–20 minutes, until peaches soften and release their juices.
Remove from heat and allow the syrup to steep with the peaches as it cools (about 20–30 minutes) to deepen flavor.
Strain through a fine mesh sieve, pressing lightly on the fruit.
Transfer to a clean glass jar and refrigerate.
Use ripe, in-season peaches for the best flavor.
For a smoother syrup, avoid pressing the fruit too hard while straining.
For a thicker syrup, simmer a few extra minutes, watching closely so it doesn’t reduce too far.
Keep the syrup in a sealed jar or bottle in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Freeze in ice cube trays for long-term storage and easy portioning.
