This passion fruit simple syrup recipe is perfect for iced coffee, lattes, tea, lemonade, cocktails, mocktails, and sparkling water, it adds a vibrant fruity punch with a refreshing exotic twist.

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Fine-mesh strainer or sieve
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Sterilized bottle or jar

Ingredients

  • 1 cup passion fruit pulp or 4 medium sized passion fruits
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice optional, brightens flavor

Instructions

  • Add sugar and water to a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat until the sugar completely dissolves to make the syrup base.
  • Remove from heat and allow the syrup base to cool down a bit. Add the passion fruit pulp and allow it to steep in syrup for 10 minutes.
  • Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and stir in lime juice.
  • Let cool completely.
  • Transfer to a clean bottle or jar and refrigerate.

Notes

For a stronger tropical flavor, reduce water to ¾ cup.
Add ½ teaspoon vanilla extract for a smoother, dessert-style syrup.
Pairs especially well with iced lattes, coconut milk drinks, and sparkling beverages.
