Small saucepan
Fine-mesh strainer
Citrus zester
Lemon squeezer
Glass bottle or jar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- Zest of 1 lemon
- ½ cup fresh lemon juice strained
Heat water, sugar, and lemon zest until the sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
Cool, strain, and refrigerate.
Do not zest the white pith.
Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor.
Store for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
